ELEGOO Water Washable 8K Resin in Space Gray is a photopolymer material for LCD 3D printers, designed to cure under UV light with a wavelength of 405 nm. The 8K formula enables precise prints with well-defined details, and the hardness of the cured material—83–88 Shore D—helps preserve the model’s distinct shapes. The resin has a viscosity of 250–400 mPa·s at 25°C and allows for convenient washing of prints with water.
Formula 8K for Accurate Detail Reproduction
Formula 8K was developed for printing models that require accurate reproduction of fine details, textures, edges, and recesses. The hardness of the cured material, ranging from 83 to 88 Shore D, results in rigid models that retain their shape well. As a result, the resin is ideal for printing figurines, miniatures, decorations, and other projects where the clarity of fine details is essential.
Appropriate material properties and water-based washing
A viscosity of 250–400 mPa·s at 25°C and a density of 1.05–1.25 g/cm³ for the liquid resin define the material’s properties before curing. The Water Washable formula, on the other hand, allows for the removal of uncured resin residue from finished models using water, reducing the need for isopropyl alcohol during standard rinsing.
Mechanical properties of finished prints
After curing, the material exhibits a declared flexural strength of 52.47–64.13 mPa and a tensile strength of 41.06–50.18 mPa, according to the manufacturer’s specifications. These parameters allow for a better assessment of the resin’s mechanical properties and help select the right resin for the nature of the project being developed. The Space Grey color provides a neutral, gray finish that clearly highlights the details, textures, and geometry of the printed model.

ELEGOO Water Washable 8K is designed to work with light at a wavelength of 405 nm and is compatible with most LCD 3D printers that support this type of resin.
